COMMUNITY PERFORMANCES
Each year the Hosanna Dancers spends a week blessing residents of our community by presenting the dances they have spent the year preparing. The community has warmly received these performances and we are honored to have the opportunity to share our love for Jesus through the art of dance to those who would not otherwise have access to such uplifting performances. These performances take place a week and a half after our annual Spring Recital and are consider part of our Full-Season Program.

DANCING ON POINTE
We know that from an early age, ballet students dream of their first pointe shoes. Getting approval for dancing on pointe is an achievement and an exciting milestone in a ballet dancer's training. Hosanna Dance Studio believes that proper fundamentals in ballet technique and proven strength in a dancer's body are of the utmost importance before approving a dancer to begin pointe work. For this reason, our ballet instructors provide level-appropriate evaluation of each individual student before giving approval to begin dancing on pointe. Pointe work is not easy or always comfortable. Some of a dancer's success will be influenced by foot structure, but most influenced by their tenacity and work ethic. The unique nature of pointe dancing means that it is vitally important that pointe shoes be fit precisely for each dancer. Unlike ballet slippers, pointe shoes have a variety of features that need to be custom-fit for each dancer: size, width, vamp length, box size, shank size, and shank length. The world of pointe shoes, for students and parents alike, is a whole new realm. |
