What should my dancer wear to class?
Creative Dance Ages 3-5 Students should wear appropriate and modest clothing. Dancewear is not required at this age. Dancers will need ballet and tap shoes for this class. Ballet Ages 6-Level I Students should wear appropriate and modest dance clothing (simple, solid colored leotards , black for level I, and tights) with pink, leather-soled, ballet shoes (no bedroom slippers). A simple dance skirt is optional. Please NO street clothes. Ballet II and Above Dancers should wear a modest black leotard and pink tights. A skirt may be worn for center work, but not at the barre. Tap/Jazz/Hip Hop/Modern/Lyrical/HD Fit Students should wear modest, close fitting dance/exercise pants or shorts and shoes with either leotard or appropriate shirt. Please NO Jeans or Booty-shorts. Tap shoes for tap, black jazz shoes or ballet slippers are appropriate for jazz; clean-soled tennis shoes may be worn for hip-hop. Feet are bare for modern. Check with instructor for preferred lyrical jazz footwear. Modesty is a non-negotiable in our classes. What fees are involved in dancing at Hosanna Dance?
There are three main costs parents should expect: 1. Monthly class price (available on the List of Classes). 2. An annual registration fee (per family) $65.00 with auto-pay, $90.00 without auto-pay. Registration fee is non-refundable. 3. Costume fee (varies by class; in the $80-125 range). 4. Any refunds to tuition will incur a $20.00 administrative fee to cover our transaction costs. There are no other required fees from the studio; however, there are some incidental expenses for which it is good to keep a budget. Dancers will need appropriate dance clothing, tights, and shoes. Tickets for the Spring recital in May are $15 to $20 (to offset the cost of renting the performance hall). Is my dancer required to dance in the Spring recital?
While it is not required, we encourage all dancers to participate in the Spring recital. Students will receive the most benefit from their class if they do. Dancers not participating in the recital need to let the office know by November 1st. Do you have a lost and found?
Yes! Any items left at the studio are put in our lost and found bins. There is a basket in each building. The lost and found baskets are emptied on the 5th of each month. We will keep the previous month’s items for one month, then they will be donated to a local charitable organization. Can I get a refund for missing a class?
We do not give refunds for missed classes; however, you may be compensated though attendance at another class of the student’s choice (of equal or lower level). Teachers request notice if your student will be absent. It is also a good idea to call ahead if you are planning to attend a make-up class, as all classes may not be available to due studio size or classes being full and closed. Do you cancel classes on snow days?
In the event of inclement weather we will update our website and our Facebook page, as well as emailing closure information. We usually make decisions for afternoon and evening classes by 1:00PM. We do not refund for missed classes due to weather; however, the standard make-up policies apply, and families are encouraged to make up the classes through attendance at another class of their choosing. |
